Coverage expansion plans

We're expanding our coverage by adding 1,800 new sites to our network

On 03 May 2012, we announced our coverage expansion plan to improve the breadth and depth of coverage for our customers. This complements the work already underway designed to progressively enhance coverage, increase speed and significantly improve our customer’s network experience than ever before from Vodafone.

We rolled out over 1,000 new sites in 2012 and we will continue to add up to 1,800 new sites into our network to further expand coverage over the next three years.

Network coverage to reach 96% of population

In addition, from June 2013 we will increase our network coverage to reach 96% (previously 94%) of the Australian population which will enable our customers to gain access to wider coverage in outer metropolitan and regional areas.

The expansion to our coverage is a significant step forward and is part of our evolution toward higher performance network speeds that will ultimately lead to our introduction of 4G.
