Vodafone has two kinds of Mobile Email - Enterprise Mobile Email and Internet Mobile Email.

Enterprise Mobile Email is ideal for corporate email systems, such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino™ or Novell® GroupWise®.

There are 2 solutions available:

1. BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution
   
   Companies running an email server platform, such as IBM Lotus Domino, Novell GroupWise or Microsoft Exchange Server, just need additional software so employees can access their work emails, calendar, contacts and the internet while out of the office. This solution also provides market leading end-to-end security.
   
   Installation is simple and Vodafone can recommend a partner to help with your IT needs.

2. Windows Mobile Email Solution
   
   Integrates easily with Microsoft® Exchange Server (2003 and above) to provide push email, with wireless access to your calendar and contacts. There’s no need for additional licenses or software, so installation and set-up is simple. This is ideal if you prefer the look and feel of a traditional device such as a Nokia or a Windows Mobile® device.

Internet Mobile Email is for individuals and businesses that have an internet-based (IMAP4 or POP3) email service, through an external ISP.

There are 2 solutions available:

1. BlackBerry® Internet Solution
   
   If your business is a smaller business with Internet based email (such as Gmail) or email hosted by an ISP, the BlackBerry® Internet Service can easily mobilise up to 10 different email accounts. This solution also provides businesses with handheld password control security.

2. Handset Internet Email
   
   For small business owners or personal users who prefer standard mobile phones, but like email and internet access, we have a range of phones that support Handset Internet Email. This is not 'Push email' technology, but email can be set up to be delivered at times that suit you. You can synchronise with your calendar and your contacts list from your PC.

Push vs Pull

Vodafone Mobile Email lets you receive emails in one of two ways; using either 'pull' or 'push' technology. 'Pull' technology is scheduled to deliver internet based email wirelessly to your handheld. 'Push' technology sends your email to you automatically so there's no need to either manually dial-up or schedule a connection.

Handhelds designed with 'push' email in mind, are better suited for an 'always connected, always on' environment. Standard handhelds running Handset Internet Email may experience shorter battery life when checking for email in short intervals.

With 'push' email, you don't have to wait or wonder - you're latest email is already there.
