Usage Information
The Vodafone Mobile Connect software includes a usage meter; this has been integrated to give an approximation of your data usage, the amounts shown can vary from your actual usage.
There are a number of factors which could influence the accuracy of the usage meter. These include but are not limited to:
- The usage meter date settings in the Mobile Connect software do not coincide with your billing cycle
- Background synchronisation
- Closing the software, the notebook hibernating or shutting down the notebook without first pressing the ‘Disconnect’ button in the Mobile Connect Software
- Connecting via any other means other than pressing the ‘Connect’ button in the Mobile Connect software
- Manually resetting the usage meter in the Mobile Connect software
- Reinstalling the software at any point after initial usage
- Removing the SIM card from the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card, using it in another laptop/device or using a different SIM with the Mobile Connect card
It is also important to note the following
All amounts shown in the Vodafone Mobile Connect software View Usage window are approximate.
Various factors, including other programs running on your computer (e.g. automatic updates or compression software) may cause differences between the amount of data shown as transferred in the Usage window, and the transfer actually recorded by Mobile networks. These differences may sometimes be large.
Your actual usage, rounded up as per our rounding policy, will be recorded in your monthly bill and our charges are calculated on this basis.
Checking account balance and monitoring my data usage
You can check your data usage anytime using any of following methods:
-
Online using ‘My Vodafone’ – visit vodafone.com.au then click on ‘My Vodafone’ to view your used and remaining allowance. You’ll need to have your Mobile Broadband service number and your ‘My Vodafone’ password ready.
-
Account Balance via TXT – send a free blank TXT message to 1512 either from the Vodafone Mobile Connect software or by inserting your Mobile Broadband SIM into a mobile phone. A TXT will be sent to you showing your remaining usage allowance.
-
Over the phone – simply call 1512 using your Mobile Broadband SIM, 1555 from a Vodafone mobile or 1300 650 410 from any other phone, and ask for your account balance. You’ll need to have your Mobile Broadband service number and your four digit PIN number ready.
