Handset Recycling

MobileMuster is the official national recycling program of the mobile phone industry in Australia. Initiated voluntarily by the telecommunications industry in 1999 its overall aim is to prevent mobile phones ending up in landfill and is funded solely by the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) members. Vodafone Australia is a founding member of MobileMuster and see it as an essential vehicle to enable mobile phone users to return unwanted mobile phones and accessories for recycling into new products such as pallets, fence posts, kitchenware and jewellery. In 2008/09 we achieved our commitment to increase the number of mobiles collected through MobileMuster by 50% on 2007/08 levels.
