Today's mobile phone technology offers a range of solutions if you're deaf or hard of hearing. Here are a few Vodafone services that can make it easier for you to keep in touch by mobile phone:

What services should I look at?

Vodafone live!#

Vodafone live!# is our mobile internet service, offering information and entertainment on the screen of your mobile phone. You'll find everything from business news to sports news and games to download. One of the many services available is Find & Seek, which provides essential local information, maps and guides.

#Vodafone live! is subject to network availability and handset capabilities.

Useful Shortcuts

Useful shortcuts help you find information from your mobile phone without talking to anyone. Simply type the following codes into your handset followed by the ‘Send’ key (usually marked with a green handset symbol). All of these services are free to use, and the information is displayed on the phone screen.

  • *#06# = Your IMEI (mobile phone serial number).
  • 1512 = Your Prepay account balance. OR
  • Send a TXT message from the phone menu to have your account balance sent back as a TXT.

Text Messages

Text messages help you keep in touch when you don't want to talk or if you have difficulty hearing. You simply type your message by using the keys on the mobile phone and then send it to any other mobile.

TXT Updates

TXT Updates are text messages sent to your mobile containing fun and useful stuff. No matter what you're into there's bound to be a TXT Update for you:

  • Useful Stuff - News, Weather, Shares, Music & Horoscope
  • Sports Results - Rugby Union, AFL, NRL

Windows Live Hotmail® SMS



Now you can stay connected to the people most important to you with access to your Hotmail account when you are on the go.

Vodafone Australia subscribers are able to receive Windows Live Hotmail® via TXT messaging. So you can have your Hotmail Inbox permanently on your mobile. You don't even need a WAP phone - just a Vodafone Mobile connected phone that you can send TXT messages from.

Yahoo! Messenger for SMS 



Yahoo! Messenger for SMS is no longer just available via the PC. Vodafone customers can now send messages from your phone to anyone logged on to Yahoo! Messenger for SMS. You don't even need a WAP phone - just a Vodafone Mobile connected phone that you can send TXT.

CALLscreen

CALLscreen combines an answering service with a personal assistant. Our professional operator answers the call, takes a message and sends it to your mobile. You'll receive the message as a standard text message displayed on-screen. It's a great way of keeping you in touch without saying a word.

Last Caller's Number

Your last caller's number needn't be a mystery if you miss a call and discover that your caller hasn't left a message. If you press *#147# followed by the Send key (usually marked with a green handset symbol), we'll show you the last caller's number on your mobile's screen. This services is currently free of charge.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband/Internet

The Vodafone Mobile Broadband (on our 3G network) and Vodafone Mobile Internet (on our GPRS network)is a quick and simple way to connect almost any laptop to the internet, giving you web browsing and email on the move. Install the software from our CD-ROM, slot in a pre–configured Vodafone Mobile Connect data card or USB Modem, then just click and connect using Vodafone's high–speed 3G Broadband (HSDPA) or GPRS networks*. *Coverage

Vodafone Mobile Broadband supports connectivity in 3G broadband (HSDPA) coverage areas. Vodafone Mobile Internet supports connectivity in our GPRS areas.

Vodafone's 3G broadband (HSDPA) network currently covers metropolitan Sydney, Central Coast, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth, plus major international airports, and is constantly expanding. Outside 3G broadband areas, Vodafone Mobile Broadband operates at slower access and download speeds on Vodafone’s 3G network and Mobile Internet (GPRS) network (which covers 92% of the places you live and work in Australia).

Mobile Internet Services

3G and GPRS gives you direct access and fast access to WAP and the Internet. Charges apply.

Vodafone 3G and GPRS networks enable you to access information when you’re on the move. So you can:

  • Send and receive email

  • Download files
  • Update databases
  • Check stock levels
  • Manage sales figures and more

3G and GPRS enables you to do all this in real time*, increasing your business productivity and efficiency.

Prepay customers will be able to use WAP, PXT® and Vodafone Live services, which are subject to the fair use policy and which use GPRS technology.

However, Prepay customers are not able to connect to 3G/GPRS Plans and use the other "regular" 3G/GPRS services such as described above.
