Tracking partner performance

Selection & management of contractor’s policy
The work undertaken by contractors and partners represents a significant part of Vodafone’s operations (i.e. network design, construction and installation, commissioning/decommissioning of plant, maintenance, facility management, security, marketing, recruitment, and other services at Vodafone locations and some third party (shared and outsourced) sites on behalf of Vodafone).

In recognition of the potential H&S issues that may arise from these activities, Vodafone embraces the Group Standard - Managing Contractors, and shall establish a system for the selection, management and monitoring of contractors/partners such that:

  • A ‘Contract Management Team’ (or person) shall be allocated to manage/liaise with designated contractor representative(s) in relation to all contracted works projects;
  • Foreseeable H&S issues that may arise from project-related work activities are identified;
  • A determining factor in the selection and appointment of contractors shall be their capacity to perform work safely.  As a minimum requirement, contractors engaged by Vodafone shall have an H&S system in place that is capable of identifying, assessing and managing H&S risk for all activities undertaken on Vodafone’s behalf, and is capable of protecting the health and safety of those who may be affected by their actions (i.e. Vodafone employees, other contractors and public); and
  • A suitable monitoring and review process is established and maintained for all contracts to assess the H&S performance of contractors.
