Vodafone Guardian is an app for Android™ smartphones that lets you and your child select the best smartphone settings to support safe and responsible mobile use at any age. Families now have the flexibility to decide what services children have access to during any time and day of the week, including the internet browser, camera, Wi-fi, apps and games and decide who can call and text your child.
Vodafone Guardian can be used on any mobile network in Australia.
When combined with the expert advice in Vodafone's Digital Parenting Magazine, Vodafone Guardian helps parents have important conversations with their children to help them learn responsible and safe ways to use their mobile.
Vodafone's Guardian app gives parents the flexibility to tailor their smartphone's settings to what they feel is appropriate at any age. It allows you to:
Set days and times your child can use their phone for calling, receiving TXT and other phone functions (e.g. turn off web browser during school hours, at bed time)
You can bar calls and TXTs from numbers that aren't in the contacts list (i.e. only accept calls and TXTs from friends and family)
Decide times of the day the Internet via browser; WiFi; and/or specific apps such as games and videos can be used
Unsubscribe from any existing subscriptions to Premium Rate Numbers, helping to control costs
Give your child the ability to 'accept' or 'not accept' unwanted TXTs and block calls and TXTs from individual contact numbers to help address bullying
Provided the child and the parent contact have network coverage and the child has credit on their account, the parent contact will be sent a text notification if Vodafone Guardian has been deactivated (Standard TXT charges apply).
Help Improve Guardian allows you to select from two options:
Whichever option you select, data will be sent weekly and data charges may apply depending on your data tariff. Help Improve Guardian will be automatically deactivated when roaming overseas. To find out where the data will be sent and stored, see "Terms and Conditions" below.
