Maintenance Release:
This is a small software update, sometimes referred to as a patch or bug-fix. You won�t see any change to the way you interact with your tablet or smartphone but some small issues in the background will be resolved.
Maintenance releases happen a few times each year and are important in keeping your smartphone or tablet running smoothly.
Point Release:
This software update is like a maintenance release but sometimes introduces new features. Your tablet or smartphone will still work as it did before, but there might be some new features for you to explore.
Point releases happen once or twice a year and are a great way to stay on the cutting edge of technology.
Platform Upgrade:
This software update is a big deal, and often involves a major overhaul of your smartphone or tablet. Often there�s loads of new features, and the engine powering your device is re-built from the ground up. Sometimes options or menu items will be moved around slightly, and you might need to learn a new way of doing certain things.
Platform upgrades usually happen once a year, however not all smartphones or tablets will be eligible due to hardware requirements.
Launch Version:
This is the same version of software that launhed with your smartphone or tablet. There have been no software updates released for your device.
