Here’s how it works

To make your life easier when travelling, we’ve arranged all of the countries you can roam in into four zones. Each zone has its own pricing, so you don’t have to remember hundreds of roaming rates the next time you travel.

When you’ve opted-in to Vodafone Traveller, your roaming call rates are calculated by taking the zone charge per minute for the country you are in and adding it to the standard call rate and connection fee for your voice plan.

Opting-in to Vodafone Traveller
You’ll need to ensure International Roaming is activated for your service before you can opt-in to Vodafone Traveller. It’s easy to do and it’s free.

Vodafone Traveller is available on most of our postpaid plans (see list below). If you are not sure whether Vodafone Traveller is available for your plan, you can call us on 1555.

How calls and text are charged

When you make a call, the zone charge will be charged outside of your plan. For most plans, the standard call rate and connection fee will be deducted from your plan's included value.

If you run out of included value, or if the standard call rate and connection fee is not payable from your included value, these amounts will be charged outside of your plan. You can find the standard call rate and connection fee applicable to your plan below.

Receiving calls, sending a standard text and all other call types will be charged outside of your plan.

Vodafone World is the default roaming option for plan customers. You’ll be charged for calling and texting at these rates if you haven’t opted-in to Vodafone Traveller. Countries are grouped into five roaming zones and all calls are charged outside of your plan. Each roaming zone comprises various countries with flat rates per minute across each zone (where available).

Before leaving, call Customer Care on 1555 from your handset to determine whether Vodafone Traveller or Vodafone World will offer the best value in the country you are visiting.
