To safeguard minors, Vodafone live! Chat and TXT Chat are both protected by Parental Lock and accessible only to customers who have proven they are 18 years or older, either using their credit card details, or photo ID.
Vodafone does not provide any Chat service to customers under the age of 18.
All customers are automatically barred from using Chat until they have proven their age and unlocked Parental Lock.
When a customer unlocks Parental Lock, $1 is debited and immediately credited to their credit card account. The transaction appears on the cardholder's statement as Vodafone Parental Lock. This will alert the cardholder if someone has used their card without their permission and ensures minors are not able to fraudulently use their parents' or another adult's credit card.
All messages sent using live! Chat and TXT chat are post-moderated by a human moderator to check for inappropriate or illegal content. Should an underage customer fraudulently access the service, and post content which suggests they are under 18, the customer will be immediately banned from using the service.
