What is tethering?

A hotspot is a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal made by your smartphone that enables you to connect a compatible Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled device to the internet. All you do to share your connection with your other devices, colleagues, friends and family is let them connect using your password.

How to set up a hotspot

• Using your iPhone as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot

Apart from the cost of a USB cable, there is no cost to set up a hotspot on your enabled smartphone. There will however be additional data usage, especially if multiple devices are connected and using high-demand activities like online gaming or streaming videos.
