What you need to know about changing to one of our new Caps

There are some great benefits included in our new Caps like unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone national standard voice calls on some of our new contract Caps, but first you should review your current usage and compare the rates you are on now with those of the new Caps to work out what’s better for you. You can do this by visiting MyVodafone.

If you do change your existing plan, your current contract end date will not change. It will carry over to your new Cap. If you decide to change to a new Cap, choose carefully as you cannot move back to your previous Cap or Plan set, however you can still move up and back down to the Cap level to which you are contracted to. For example a customer who contracted to a $49 Cap who moves across to the new $79 Cap can move up and back down as low as the new $49 Cap without incurring any rate plan change fees.

A few things to know if you’re considering changing contracts

  1. You may change from your Contract to selected Contracts with the same or higher minimum monthly spend AND the same or longer commitment period at any point during your commitment period without incurring a Contract change fee. Once you request a change, and it is effected by us, you have accepted the new terms of your new contract.
  2. You have the option to change back to your original minimum monthly spend without incurring an Early Exit Fee or Plan Change Fee.
  3. If you change to selected Contracts with a lower minimum monthly spend during your commitment period, you will incur a Plan Change Fee. View the Standard Form of Agreement for further information.
  4. You may only request to change your Contract once per month and the plan change will be effective from your next monthly billing period.
  5. If you change plans, you will not be eligible for additional mobile discounts.

When changing from a Contract Plan or Cap to any other Contract Plan, or Cap, any free service (minutes, TXT, Internet On Your Mobile, etc.) and / or any discounted call and TXT rates (or any other reduced rates) as well as any unused credit from your previous Contract are forfeited immediately.

An Early Exit Fee applies when, during your commitment period:

  • you move out of your Contract to Prepaid or to a Month to Month offer.
  • you cancel your Contract before the expiration of your commitment period.
  • you disconnect from the Vodafone network.

For Vodafone Caps, iPhone Caps and Sim only Caps your Early Exit Fee is calculated as 100% of minimum monthly spend x months left in the contract term. For Plan Contracts, your Early Exit Fee is calculated as 50% of minimum monthly spend x months left in the contract term.

Changing between and from Prepaid Flexi Cap, TXT & Talk or 365 Day Recharge

You can change your Prepaid Recharge whenever you recharge. So if your needs change you can change to the Recharge Option that suits you best. That way you always get the most out of your mobile. Just remember to recharge within your expiry period.

  1. (a) When changing from a Flexi Cap, TXT & Talk or 365 Day Recharge to any other Vodafone postpay plan nothing carries over and all remaining credits and other inclusions in your account balance will be forfeited, including any remaining days and/or credit from Vodafone live! content subscriptions, as applicable.

    (b) Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing between the TXT & Talk Recharges, you keep and accumulate a certain amount of unused included Flexible Credit, Vodafone to Vodafone Talk, Free Talk and/or Free TXT.

  2. (c) Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing between the TXT & Talk Recharge and the 365 Day Recharge, you keep and accumulate a certain amount of unused included Flexible Credit and Vodafone to Vodafone Talk. When changing to the 365 Days Recharge, Free Talk and/or Free TXT, as applicable, is forfeited.

  3. (d) Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing from the TXT & Talk or 365 Day Recharges to any of the Flexi Cap Recharges, you keep any unused included Flexible Credit, Free Talk, Vodafone to Vodafone Talk and/or Free TXT, as applicable, which must be used within 30 days or before the next recharge, after which time anything that was carried over will be forfeited.

    (e) When changing payment methods, you may be required to purchase a separate SIM card at a participating Vodafone store or dealer.
