Yahoo! Messenger for SMS is no longer available just via the PC.
Vodafone customers can now send messages to anyone logged on to Yahoo! Messenger for SMS. You don't even need a WAP phone - just a Vodafone Mobile connected phone that can send TXT messages.
Then just sign in via SMS (using short dial number 126007). Use your Yahoo! ID and communicate in real time with family, friends and workmates who are logged on to Yahoo! Messenger for SMS, (when your mobile phone is in range).

Every TXT message you send to & from your mobile phone, through your Vodafone Yahoo IM service, costs 25c (inc GST) per message.
How do I get started with TXT Yahoo! Messenger for SMS?
First, you need to sign into Yahoo via Mobile by sending a message
IN < Yahoo id > < password > to 126 007 (You do not need to include the < > in your message)

You can now access all your Yahoo E-Mail on the move using your Vodafone mobile phone.
Sign In
As with Yahoo! Messenger for SMS, you need to first sign into Yahoo, via Mobile by sending a message
IN < Yahoo id > < password > to 126 006 (You do not need to include the < > in your message)
Check Your Mail
To see what E-mails you may have in your Inbox send the TXT message.
MAIL to 126 006 (Note: you may want to store this in your phone book for easy of use)
If you only have one message in your Inbox then you receive the first 160 characters of that E-Mail. If you have more than one message, you receive the contents of your inbox in an SMS message identifying the subject of each E-Mail, which is numbered.
If the number has an * after it, this means the message has not been read.
Reading an E-Mail
Select a message to read from the list. Use the message number that shows up next to the subject in the list.
For instance, to read message 2 from the list of messages, reply to the TXT message list with a new SMS message with the number 2.
Reading more of an E-Mail
TXT only supports 160 characters per message. If the e-mail you're reading has more than 160 characters, it will end with "more".
If you see this, reply to the message with a new SMS message like this:

Replying to an E-Mail
While viewing a message, reply to the message list with a new SMS message like this:
REPLY < message > to 126 006 (< > symbols are not required)
You don't need to type the recipient or the subject; only the message!
Composing a New E-Mail to send
To write a new e-mail message, compose a new SMS with the following contents:
TO < Yahoo ID > < Message > or
TO < e-mail address > < Message >
For instance, to send a message to your friend whose Yahoo! ID is DoYouYahoo saying "I'll see you later", your message would look like this:
TO DoYouYahoo I'll see you later to 126 006
