Postpaid iPad setup guide

Important network setup instructions for your postpaid iPad

Please follow the steps below to connect your postpaid iPad to the Vodafone network.

If you installed the latest update from Apple (on or after 11 May 2013) please download the new setup instructions.

Step 1

Insert your SIM card as per the Apple instructions and power up your iPad, then follow the Apple prompts until you get to the activation screen as shown in Step 2.

Step 2

When you see this screen, connect the iPad to iTunes or connect to WiFi to activate the device.

On device activation as mentioned in steps 1-2 only relevant to iPad shipping with iOS 5.1

Congratulations, your iPad should now be activated.

Applies to Vodafone plans for iPad
If you have a Vodafone plan you are not quite finished. Please follow steps 3-5 to complete your activation.

Step 3

Select 'Settings' once you see 'vodaAU' appear in the top left of your screen.

Step 4

First select 'Cellular Data' or 'Mobile Data', then select 'APN settings'.

Step 5

Type in 'vfinternet.au' into the APN field. Then press the home button and your iPad is ready to use on the Vodafone network.

IMPORTANT!

Please note that your APN will default back to the original settings and you will need to repeat the above steps if you:

  • install a major update to the iOS operating system
  • replace the SIM
  • restore the iPad via iTunes
  • reset the iPad

Operating system requirements

Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires an Apple ID plus:

Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later

PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later

iTunes 10.7 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/au/download)
