What is AusAlert?

AusAlert is a new national emergency warning system that sends important alerts directly to compatible mobile devices during serious emergencies and disasters.

It's designed to deliver timely information to people in affected areas, helping them stay informed and take action when needed.

There's no app to download or registration required. Simply keep your device software up to date and you'll be ready to receive alerts.

What emergencies trigger an AusAlert?

AusAlerts will be sent to mobile phones and other devices about emergencies and disasters such as:

  • Security threats
  • Public health emergencies
  • Biosecurity incidents
  • Natural hazards like bushfires, floods, cyclones and tsunamis.

AusAlert messages should only be received by people near the area affected by the emergency.
