Monday, 23 December 2024 – Vodafone Australia is making mobile phone calls to Vanuatu free-of-charge for the next two weeks to help customers reconnect with loved ones in the earthquake-affected Pacific Island nation.
Effective immediately, all Vodafone postpaid customers will be able make free, mobile voice calls to Vanuatu numbers from Australia until January 8.
"We understand how important it is for families and friends to stay connected, especially during challenging times. By offering free calls, we hope to provide some comfort, support and connection to those affected by the earthquakes in Vanuatu,” said Kieren Cooney, TPG Telecom Group Executive Consumer.
Vodafone remains dedicated to assisting communities in times of crisis and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Vodafone advises customers that while communications networks in Vanuatu are currently working, there may be ongoing power outages that could affect calls getting through. If customers experience any issues connecting with Vanuatu, they may need to retry calling to successfully connect.
For more information, customers can visit the Vodafone website or contact customer service.
