How do I get my trade-up credit?


Your trade-up credit will be automatically added to your bill. You can get your trade-up credit added as a recurring credit to your bill over 12, 24 or 36 months, or you can get the full amount added to your bill.

What do I need to do before bringing my phone or smart watch in store?

Here are some things to do before bringing your phone or smart watch in store:

  • Back up your contacts and any important files you don’t want to lose, including photos, videos, notes, calendar dates and messages.
  • Remove your SIM and any memory cards inserted into the phone or smart watch. To ensure your personal information remains secure, any SIM or memory cards found in returned devices are destroyed.
  • If you have an iPhone or Apple Watch, it’s important that you switch off Find My iPhone.
  • If you have an Android phone, make sure you’ve disabled any security lock settings on your phone. These settings can remotely lock your phone to protect your personal information if you lose it.
How do I know if my phone or smart watch is in Good Working Order?

The phone or smart watch must meet the below conditions to be in Good Working Order.

  • The phone or smart watch needs to be turned on and off.
  • The screen must be undamaged without any fading, cracks or bleeding.
  • The phone or smart watch has no major cosmetic damage to the exterior.
  • Where applicable, the battery and back cover must be included.
  • The phone or smart watch must not be network blocked, reported as stolen or counterfeit.
  • On iPhones and Apple Watches, the iCloud account can’t be locked.

Can I get my new phone or smart watch now and trade-up my old phone later?

Yes. You can sign up or upgrade to a new phone or smart watch and trade-up your old one when you’re ready. We suggest you trade-up as soon as possible as prices can change frequently.

Trade-up and save offer
You can trade-in max 3 devices, up to the total value of $1000 per service. You will be provided with a Trade-Up Value for your Eligible Device in store by Vodafone staff according to Ingram Micro Pty Ltd’s Valuation Criteria (‘Valuation’). Valuation and Trade-Up Value vary depending on condition of your Eligible Device, and is subject to change. When you trade-up your Eligible Device, ownership will be signed over to Ingram Micro Pty Ltd (Ingram). Vodafone Stores act as a device collection point on behalf of Ingram. If you accept the in-store Valuation, the Trade-Up Value will be added in the form of a full credit to your second bill, or if you simultaneously sign up and stay connected over your chosen MPP period with an Eligible Plan, credit can be spread in equal instalments over your chosen MPP period and applied to your second bill. Your Max Speed means the maximum speed the Vodafone network can deliver to your handset at the time and place you are using data. Red Plus Month to Month Plans are only available if you simultaneously purchase a phone from Vodafone under a Mobile Payment Plan (‘MPP’) of 12, 24 or 36 months duration (“Commitment Period”). For personal use by approved customers only. Inclusions expire after 1 month unless otherwise stated. Plan excludes Premium Services, 1223, & 1225 directory services, 123 Ask-Us-Anything, International Roaming, content purchases, call screen and charges for additional data while roaming and additional standard international calls. Minimum monthly spend is $35, $40, $50, $60 and $80 respectively plus handset costs. Must connect for minimum one month.
