If the weekend’s fast approaching and you’ve got nothing to do, never fear! There are plenty of fun ways to spend your time while keeping things low-key, and we’re here to help.

Here are some ideas so you can make the most of this weekend, even if your social calendar is quiet…

1. Binge-watch a cool new show

There’s plenty of new TV for you to catch up on this month. Or maybe you’d prefer to just stream an old favourite? So snuggle up in bed or on the couch and get your binge on!

2. Listen to that crime podcast you’ve heard great things about

The best thing about podcasts is you can take them wherever you want. Why not listen to it while you do some life admin? It’ll make it way more fun! If you haven’t already listened to the brilliant crime podcasts, comedy podcasts and celebrity talk shows that are out there, then you’ve got your work cut out for you.

3. Email a family member you haven’t talked to in a while

You could easily make someone’s day by taking a moment to write an email update of what you’ve been up to. Whether it’s your grandma, an uncle you haven’t talked to in a while or your cousin overseas, they’ll be delighted to hear from you!

4. Watch a YouTube tutorial and learn a new skill

You could pick up a skill you’ve always wanted to learn just by watching a couple of videos online! For instance, finally learn how to solve a Rubik’s Cube, learn how to make dumplings, or even how to play the piano!

5. Go for a scenic walk (or run, if you’re feeling ambitious)

Prefer to get out of the house? Grab your phone and blast some tunes while going on a walk or run around your neighbourhood. Because what’s better than a bit of fresh air and some fresh beats?

6. Pretend you’re a tourist in your own city

Go check out those touristy monuments in your city that you thought you’d never do – and get the perfect Instagram in the process! You might even discover something about the place you live that you didn’t know before…

7. Find an event in your community and get involved

Use a ‘meet up’ app to hang out with other people that share your interests (like Ultimate Frisbee or speaking French), or even scroll through your suggested Facebook events to discover fun things happening near you. You’ll be out and about in no time!
