Bye bye, bezel!
In layman’s terms, the smartphone bezel is the plastic/metal on the front of a phone that borders the screen space. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ near bezel-less designs means the Infinity Display has uninterrupted real estate, and a smooth, continuous surface designed for an ‘immersive viewing experience.’
Hand free design
While the screen is luxuriously large, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are on the skinnier side, which makes these smartphones more comfortable to grip and enables easy one-handed operation. More on this later…
Again, this is a release that caters to multi-taskers: users can play with multiple apps at the same time with the multi-window feature, and watch a video while sending a text with the full keyboard.
Take stunning photos on the go
Maybe you’ve spotted a celeb on the street, witnessed a winning goal, or managed to convince your cat to play along and look into the lens. Whatever the case, we’ve all been there: the inopportune photo op ruined by blur. The advanced camera is made to capture optimal low-light and anti-blur photos, so you can confidently snap on the go.

What’s style without substance? Inside the Galaxy S8 and S8+ is a strong processor and powerful performance and connectivity capabilities, which, together with a strong network, enable you to download content quickly.
Meet Bixby, your voice-activated assistant
Not available in Australia just yet, Bixby is Samsung’s intelligent interface that was designed to make interacting with your device, services, and apps more instinctive and seamless. Rather than answer questions, or, “Google it for you”, Bixby was designed to help you use your phone, through voice. Right now, Bixby’s Voice function will integrate with a few of Samsung’s native apps, but the plan is to expand its capabilities to include more Samsung and third-party apps in the near future.
360 and VR
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will connect to the new Samsung Gear 360, a 4K capable 360-degree camera with a refined design for easier use and live video content sharing. Real-time broadcasting lets you share content via seamless uploading to Facebook or YouTube (using an LTE or Wi-Fi connection).
Users can also connect their devices with the new Gear VR with Controller, powered by Oculus, for convenient one-handed control and better motion interaction with VR content.
Plus, the devices make for an excellent mobile gaming experience thanks to graphic technology and gaming modifications from Vulkan API.
Miss your desktop?
Samsung DeX is a new solution that aims to transform your smartphone into a desktop by providing a secure, desktop-like experience. With Samsung DeX, users can easily display and edit data from their phone, making working remotely faster and smarter.
