Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras recently announced some very exciting news – we will be a new Major Partner and the Official & Exclusive Mobile Service Sponsor of the 2018 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival!

Terese Casu, CEO of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras said, “Vodafone’s continual encouragement to support an open, collaborative and inclusive environment in the workplace, as well as their support for the wider LGBTIQ community makes us proud to announce Vodafone as our new major partner for Mardi Gras’ 40th anniversary year.

As Director of Human Resources at Vodafone, I’m proud that we’re working with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in an official capacity this year.

We are incredibly excited to give our staff the opportunity to show their support by marching in the Sydney Mardi Gras parade this year (along with our festive float!) and we are proud to be part of Mardi Gras, following what has been a historic movement and landmark year for equality in Australia.

How Vodafone is fostering inclusivity at work

Vodafone is passionate about ensuring that everyone is empowered to be themselves at work. In 2017, we launched Connect: LGBT+ & Friends Network, an employee led network that champions equality, individuality and offers guidance and support to employees and friends in the community. Connect acts as an advisory to our business about how we can be more inclusive in everything we do for both employees and customers.

We were also an official corporate supporter of the Australian Marriage Equality campaign last year.

We’re looking forward to an exciting year of even more diversity initiatives in 2018, to support equality and inclusivity at work.
