How can we help?

Managing account contacts

This support article will give you key information about adding additional contacts to your Vodafone account.

Giving someone permission to access your account

As a Vodafone Account Holder, you can give others permission to access and manage your Vodafone account and services. Simply choose the type of authority level you want your contact to have. You can update or remove them at any time.

Levels of authority

  • Authorised Contact
  • Limited User

When you add an additional contact to your account, you remain responsible for the costs and debts incurred by them on your account.

To add someone to your account, contact us along with that person as we will need to speak with you both. It is important that we speak with you both at the same time to confirm your nominated contact’s personal details. We will need to obtain that person’s full name, mobile phone number, email and date of birth. Vodafone will collect and use this personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Once we’ve added them, we’ll send you both an SMS confirmation.

The Account Holder is the person whose name the account is in. The Account Holder has complete access to and full control over the account.

To add someone as an Authorised Contact to your account, they:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Can only be appointed by the Account Holder

An Authorised Contact will be able to perform the following transactions on your account, including the transactions also listed for a Limited User:

  • Disconnecting services including any charge outs, i.e. cancel a Mobile Payment Plan
  • Change plans
  • Update their own contact details
  • Pay bills and other invoicing and billing enquiries

A Limited User has some access to a limited number of specific services on your account. They are able to:

  • Pay bills
  • Make prepay recharge enquiries
  • Report and bar a lost or stolen device
  • Raise faults and complaints
  • Make phone repairs enquiries

An End User is a user of a service on your account where we have not listed their details. They won’t be able to access any of your account information. You don’t need to let us know if a person is an End User on your account, however if they need to contact Vodafone directly, they will only be able to:

  • Raise faults and complaints
  • Recharge a prepay service with a voucher
  • General product and handset enquiries (not account related)

Check out our support page on granting power of attorney to someone to act on your behalf.
