Additional information

How do I get my trade-in credit?

If you traded-in your device and didn’t upgrade to a new eligible plan, your trade-in credit will be applied as a recurring monthly credit to your bill on your existing Vodafone service for your choice of 12, 24 or 36 months.

If you’ve upgraded to a new eligible plan, you may have your trade-in credit applied in full to the final bill for your existing mobile phone or tablet plan (if you have one), or have the trade-in credit as a recurring monthly credit applied against your new mobile phone or tablet plan for the term of your new plan over 12, 24 or 36 months.

If you cancel the service your trade-in credit was applied to before the full credit has been applied, the remaining balance of your credit will be forfeited.

Your forfeited credit includes any additional or bonus credit.

Can I get my trade-in device back if I change my mind?

You can’t get your trade-in device back if you change your mind after you’ve traded-in your device and the trade-in process has been finalised - ownership would be already transferred to our trade-in partner, Asurion.

In relation to trade-in, what is Good Working Order and what is damaged?

Good Working Order means your phone, tablet or smart watch:

  • Functions normally, including touch screen, buttons and microphone
  • Is free from physical damage, including cracks in the screen or back (normal wear and tear is accepted)

Damaged means your phone, tablet or smart watch has either (or both):

  • Functional issues such as problems using the touch screen, buttons or microphone
  • Some physical damage, including cracks in the screen or back and dents in the frame

A damaged device may be eligible for a lower trade-in value (when compared to the same device in Good Working Order), or may have no trade-in value at all.

All traded-in devices must be free from catastrophic damage (including liquid damage) that prevents the device from powering on.

What should I do if my device is ineligible for trade-in?

If your device is ineligible for trade-in, we encourage you to head to your nearest Vodafone store and recycle your device through MobileMuster, the official recycling scheme for mobile devices in Australia.
