Vodafone Vision plans use ‘typical evening speeds’, which indicate typical speeds between 7pm and 11pm. These speeds aren’t guaranteed and may vary depending on network conditions or other factors explained on this page. The Typical Evening Upload Speed is estimated by reference to the maximum upload speed.

The speed tier of your plan is like a speed limit. For example, if you have signed up to our Vision100 plan, your maximum download speed will be 100Mbps – even if the internet connection at your address could potentially reach higher speeds. It’s important to note that various factors affect your internet speed. Because of this, you may not always receive the maximum speed available on your plan.
FTTB infrastructure
Vision delivers fibre to your building but the copper cabling in your building can impact your internet speeds. The length and quality of the copper cables may affect your Vision performance.
VDSL Infrastructure
Vision delivers fibre to the node but the copper cabling from the node to your premises can impact your internet speeds. The length and quality of the copper cable may affect your Vision performance.
HFC Infrastructure
Vision delivers fibre to the node and run a hybrid fibre coaxial line to your premises. The quality of the coaxial cabling & network infrastructure may affect your Vision performance.
Driving somewhere that’s far away takes longer compared to somewhere that’s close. Similarly, downloading content from overseas takes longer than downloading local content. Also, you may experience slower speeds if you’re trying to access content that’s affected by congestion. This typically happens when a lot of people are trying to access the same site.
When a lot of people are online at the same time, your internet speeds can be affected. It’s like traffic during peak hour on a busy road, except that the peak time for internet use is usually between 7pm to 11pm.
If you use the internet on a single device, it can access all of your bandwidth. But when multiple devices use your internet at the same time, your bandwidth is shared between them. This may feel like you’re experiencing slower speeds, even though it’s really the effect of reduced bandwidth for each device.
Your device, such as your laptop or tablet, can also affect your speeds. Some devices may be capable of accessing the maximum speed available on your plan, while other devices may not. Devices made before 2013 may struggle to reach higher speeds. You may need to check with your device manufacturer or review its specifications to find the speed capabilities of your device.
Wi-Fi performance can be affected by multiple people using the same Wi-Fi network, physical obstacles, or interference from surrounding devices.
All Vodafone supplied modems come with a 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi frequency. Generally, the 5GHz frequency can give you faster speeds at a shorter distance, while 2.4GHz offers more range but may have slower speeds.
Your choice of modem and how you set it up in your home could stop you from getting the maximum speed of your internet plan.
If you’re using your own modem with our Vision Max plan, you’ll need a high-speed compatible modem, otherwise it might struggle to achieve the speeds available. You should check with your device manufacturer or check the device specifications on your Approved Device or Compatible Modem (as applicable) to find the speed capabilities and limitations of the device, including any device you use when connecting to the Vision service.

Vision is a privately owned fibre network, separate to the nbn® network. It offers a competitive range of basic, mid and high-speed plans, suitable for light to heavy internet users.
Our Vision plans run on Fibre To The Building (FTTB), Very-High Bitrate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) and Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) technology.
Typically, your address can be switched to Vision with little downtime. You can continue to use your existing services until your Vision appointment, where in most cases a Vision installer will disconnect your existing services, in order to connect you to the Vision network. Switching is simple, just call our expert Sales team on 1300 801 122 to get started.
Important: moving to Vision won’t automatically cancel your existing broadband or phone services. After you’re connected, contact your current provider to cancel your services, otherwise you may continue to be billed.
Typically, Vision connections are completed within 5 business days. Connection time varies depending on whether or not you've had broadband installed at your address previously, as well as Vision installer availability.
If a Vision technician needs to visit your home, here’s what to know:
Smart wiring is not included with any Vodafone Vision installation. By switching to Vision your existing smart wiring setup may need to be re-wired to work with Vision, depending on the type of Vision installation your premises requires. You'll need to hire a registered cabler if you'd like to have any additional home network wiring installed or to re-wire your existing cabling.
Some devices and services may not work on the Vision network. This can include:
Check with your device manufacturer or service provider before switching. Vodafone does not offer Priority Assistance.
