We’re switching off our 2G network.

Our 2G network is closing on 30 June 2018.

This means that if you’re using a phone that will no longer be compatible, you won’t be able to make or receive calls or text messages once the network closes down in your state.

What you should do before the 2G closure in your state.

Check the status bar on your phone. This should be at the very top of the screen where you can see the time and remaining battery life on your phone.

If there’s an ‘E’, ‘EDGE’, or ‘GPRS’ symbol displayed in your phone’s status bar, it means that you’re using a 2G SIM card in a 3G or 4G device. You can get a free replacement SIM card by heading in store.

If you can’t see any of these symbols, it means you’re probably using a 2G phone and you’ll need to upgrade before our 2G network closes in your state.

To upgrade, prepaid customers can head to our upgrades page or call 1555. If you’re on a plan, please call 1300 658 855. If you are a business customer, give us a call on 1300 111 111. You can also head into your local Vodafone store.
