Vodafone Device Care

Vodafone Device Care customers get access to phone screen replacements, device exchanges and mobile phone exchange without return, for any reason. We will provide you a replacement device before you return your old one. For customers with Apple devices, we'll let you know if you're eligible to fulfill your request at an Apple store or Apple Authorised service provider.

How to exchange your device.

It’s easy to exchange your device. Log an exchange request online for all devices (including Apple) and once we verify your entitlement for an exchange, we will either send you a replacement or for Apple devices, let you know if you’re eligible to go to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider to fulfil your service request.

Here are the steps for a Device Exchange.

Head to our online portal.

Submit your request at our device care portal.

Receive exchanged device and return envelope

We’ll send you a comparable replacement device and a return envelope for your old device, unless we’ve advised you’re eligible to fulfil your request at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider.

Backup all data on your old device

Make sure all your data has been backed up. All personal data, including photos, videos and any other files will be wiped from the device.

Return old device

Using the return envelope, send us your old device, unless we’ve advised you’re eligible to fulfil your request at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider. An additional non-return fee may apply if your old device isn’t returned within 14 days of receiving your replacement.

Submit your request at our device care portal.

Backup all data on your device

Make sure all your data has been backed up. All personal data, including photos, videos and any other files will be wiped from the device.

Book an appointment or mail in the device

Book an appointment to take your device to an authorised repairer (Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider for Apple devices), arrange for the authorised repairer to come to you or mail the device to us.

Head to your appointment, have us come to you or receive the device back from us

The authorised repairer will replace your screen in person or we’ll mail the device back to you.

What’s the difference between Vodafone Device Care and warranty?

Vodafone Device Care is a device protection service, enabling you to replace your phone screen, your phone or exchange your device regardless of its condition and for any reason.

If your device has a failure or is faulty, you may also have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and/or the warranty for your device. Device Care doesn’t change those rights and operates alongside, and in addition to, them.

If your device has a failure or fault, you can choose whether to contact us about your Australian Consumer Law or warranty rights or make an exchange request. If you do intend to claim under your Australian Consumer Law or warranty rights, make sure you contact us before making an exchange request, as we will need to assess your device. If you exchange your device under Device Care, your replacement device will be covered by an additional warranty. More details are available in the Device Care terms and conditions.

How do I exchange my device without returning my old phone?

It’s easy to exchange your device without returning your old phone. Log a Device Exchange (without return) service request online for your mobile phone (including Apple) and once we verify your entitlement, we will send you a replacement.

Here are the steps.

Head to our online portal

Submit your request at our device care portal.

Finalise your request

Once we have confirmed you are eligible for a Device Exchange (without return), we will send you a message with a link back to our online portal to complete your request.

Receive your replacement device

We’ll send you a comparable replacement device (Apple customers cannot visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service provider to collect a replacement).

What device will I receive as a replacement?

You will receive the closest equivalent model available in Australia of the device you signed up to Device Care with. It may be refurbished or contain refurbished parts and it won’t necessarily be the same colour or model as your existing device.

How many times can I make an exchange or replace my screen?

You can exchange your device or replace your screen as many times as you like, so long as you pay the associated fee per exchange or replacement.

Can I cancel Vodafone Device Care at any time?

Yes, you can cancel Device Care at any time by calling us on 1300 650 410. You’ll continue to be charged monthly until you cancel.

How do I make a complaint?

We understand that at times issues may arise and you may have a complaint. If you feel unhappy or you’re not satisfied about any of the Swap & Go processes, please let us know and we’ll work with you to try and resolve it in a fair and transparent manner.
