What is mobile broadband?

Using a modem or tablet, mobile broadband is a wireless connection to the internet via a mobile network. Vodafone uses the same network for mobile phones, tablets and mobile broadband modems.

Red Data plans
Red Data Plans are only available if you simultaneously purchase a device from Vodafone under a Mobile Payment Plan (‘MPP’) of 12, 24 or 36 months duration (“Commitment Period”). For personal use by approved customers only. Inclusions expire after 1 month unless otherwise stated.

Minimum monthly spend is $15, $30, $45, $60 (for $15, $30, $45, $60 plans respectively). Must connect for minimum one month. Total minimum cost is one month of your plan fees plus 100% of the MPP instalments of your chosen device. There is no Early Exit Fee on your Red Data Plan, however, if you choose to cancel your Red Data Plan, your MPP will also auto cancel and 100% of the remaining device instalments will be applied to your next bill. Recurring monthly plan fee charged until the end of the month in which you cancel.

Sharing for Data Plans
If you have more than one plan that supports sharing on your billing account (excluding Vodafone Red Plus, SIM Only Plus, SIM Only Data Plus and Red Data Plus Plans), the data allowances on those services will automatically combine into one pool which will be shared between eligible users. Data sharing is only available on up to 10 services, for personal customers a maximum of 5 of these can be voice plans. The data included in any plan on your account which is a Vodafone Red Plus or SIM Only Plus Plan is not shareable with this plan and vice versa. Any existing calling allowances on your account are not shareable with this plan. You can find out which plans support sharing or you can opt-out of sharing altogether at any time by calling 1555.

Included Data
If monthly data allowance exceeded additional data is automatically added for $10 per 1GB ($0.01/MB).Any unused Additional Data will be rolled over for one billing month. After this it will expire. Included Data does not rollover and expires after 1 month. Included data only for use in Australia on Vodafone’s network.

12 month SIM Only Data Plans
For personal use by approved customers only. You must supply your own device in order to sign up to this plan – you cannot purchase a device from Vodafone on instalments with this plan. Minimum monthly spend is $15, $30, $45, $60 (for $15, $30, $45, $60 plans respectively). Early exit fee = 50% of $15, $30, $45, $60 (for $15, $30, $45, $60 plans respectively) x months left on contract. Any charges for additional or excluded services will still apply.

Month to Month SIM Only Data Plans
For personal use by approved customers only. You must supply your own device in order to sign up to this plan – you cannot purchase a device from Vodafone on instalments with this plan. Minimum monthly spend is $15, $30, $45, $60 (for $15, $30, $45, $60 plans respectively). Must connect for minimum one month. Recurring monthly plan fee charged until the end of the month in which you notify that you wish to cancel.

Bundle & Save
Bundle & Save discounts are available to (a) new customers who connect two or more Eligible Plans on the same billing account; OR (b) existing customers with an Eligible Plan who: add one or more eligible services to their billing account or who upgrade or switch an ineligible Plan to an Eligible Plan; OR (c) existing customers who have two Eligible Plans and upgrade or change one of those Eligible Plan to access the Bundle and Save discounts.

Eligible Plans are: All voice plans of $30 and above released on or after July 25 2018 (excluding Assured Plan and Business Flex); All MBB Plans of $30 and above released on or after June 26 2018; and all nbn™ Plans (excluding Essential nbn™, Essential nbn™ BYO, Business Essential nbn™ and Business Essential nbn™ BYO Plans). Customers will receive a percentage discount off each Eligible Plan’s access fees (5% off two plans, 10% off three plans, 15% off four plans or 20% off five or more plans) when active on a single billing account. Note MPP, APP or Add-On fees are not discounted.

The Bundle & Save discount is calculated from the first full bill cycle and updated monthly as eligible services are added or removed. Any second service discounts are replaced by the applicable Bundle & Save discount. If early exit fees apply to an Eligible Plan they are calculated using the undiscounted amount x months remaining.
